من معبد وثني ضخم إلى معاصر للزيتون من العصر الروماني، تتواصل في لبنان الاكتشافات الأثرية الدالة على غنى التاريخ وقِدَمه في هذا البلد الصغير الممزق بين الحروب والأزمات، والذي نجح أخيرا بإدراج عدد من مواقعه على قائمة اليونسكو لحمايتها من الحرب مع إسرائيل.
قتل رجل 8 من أقاربه، بينهم 4 أطفال، خلال عشاء عائلي في منزل بمدينة بيلينجز بولاية مونتانا الأميركية، قبل أن ينتحر، وفق ما أفاد به متحدث باسم العائلة لوكالة "أسوشيتد برس".
رغم أن امتلاك قوة عسكرية يُعدّ ركناً أساسياً في حماية أمن الدول وسيادتها، اختارت نحو 20 دولة حول العالم التخلي عن الجيوش الدائمة، مفضّلة توجيه مواردها نحو قطاعات مثل التعليم والصحة والتنمية، والاعتماد على المعاهدات والشراكات الدولية لضمان أمنها.
