The House of the Poet is the home where Ghassan and Nadia Tueni lived. It was given this name in reference to the poetry books, articles, and literary works they left behind.
After their passing, their wish was for the house to belong to the public rather than remain a family residence. In this way, people could benefit from the books and cultural heritage preserved at the site. In the past, writers and playwrights used to gather there, making it an important cultural meeting place.
That is why the program carries the name “The House of the Poet.” The house itself was built gradually over many years, with different sections added over time. Their vision was always for it to become a museum and a cultural space, rather than simply a private home.
