نقلت القناة 12 الاسرائيلية، عن مسؤول أميركي رفيع المستوى، أن "الولايات المتحدة اقترحت على حزب الله وقف جميع هجماته على إسرائيل، مقابل امتناع إسرائيل عن تصعيد عملياتها في بيروت".وألمح المسؤول أيضاً إلى أنه "في حال فشل المحادثات، قد تسمح الولايات المتحدة لإسرائيل باستهداف مواقع حزب الله في بيروت".
أصدر الجيش الاسرائيلي إنذاراً لسكان الضاحية الجنوبية بالإخلاء.وزعم الجيش "إذا واصل حزب الله إطلاق القذائف الصاروخية نحو مدن وبلدات إسرائيل سيرد جيش الدفاع باستهداف اهداف في الضاحية الجنوبية".
