في تطور لافت في ملف قضية انفجار مرفأ بيروت كشف قبطان السفينة "روسوس" بوريس بروكوشيف للمرة الاولى بحديث مع قناة المشهد تفاصيل رحلة شحنة نيترات الامونيوم و قال أنه أبلغ السلطات الرسمية في مرفأ بيروت صراحةً بأن تخزين هذه الشحنة يشكل خطرًا كبيرًا، مشيراً إلى أن التوقف في بيروت كان اضطرارياً لأن الشحنة بدأت تشكل خطراً على سلامة السفينة نفسها وحول الوجهة الاصلية للسفينة قال أنها كانت متجهة أصلاً إلى موزمبيق ولم تكن تقصد بيروت كوجهة نهائية.
قال وزير المالية الإسرائيلي بتسلئيل سموتريتش أن تل أبيب قد تضطر لشن عملية وشيكة في غزة ولبنان قبل الانتخابات الإسرائيلية المقررة في أكتوبر (تشرين الأول) المقبل، وهو الموعد المفترض قانوناً. أما في حال التوجه إلى انتخابات مبكرة ستُجرى في غضون ثلاثة شهور أي فبراير المقبل.
