تعليقًا على تصريح أحد القياديين العسكريين في حزب الله بشأن لجوء الحزب إلى اعتماد تكتيكات الثمانينيات وتفعيل مجموعات استشهادية، وصف الصحافي أحمد الأيوبي، في حديثه إلى "الجديد"، هذا الطرح بالمؤسف. وأضاف متسائلًا: "بعد كل ما وصل إليه حزب الله من تطور تقني وقدرات عسكرية وصاروخية في المواجهة، هل بات هذا هو مؤشر النصر؟" ورأى الأيوبي أنه لا يمكن الرهان على خيار القتال حتى الاستشهاد.
