طالبت مجموعات اغترابية لبنانية، في كتاب إلى رئيس مجلس النواب الأستاذ نبيه برّي، "بإدراج اقتراح القانون النيابي ومشروع القانون الحكومي المتعلّقين بتكريس حقّ اللبنانيين غير المقيمين في الاقتراع وفق مكان قيدهم، على جدول أعمال أقرب جلسة تشريعية".
