Trade War Looms: Trump Raises Tariffs on Canada to 50%
U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday that he will raise tariffs on a range of Canadian automotive products starting in 2027, as the two countries slide toward an escalating trade war.
Writing on his Truth Social platform, Trump said: “On January 1, 2027, tariffs on all cars and trucks, whether large or small, as well as auto parts and steel, will be raised to 50%.”
