Nashwa explained that Maiar had previously said she felt let down after Nashwa encouraged her to wear the hijab and start a family, while Nashwa herself did not take the same step. She also pointed out that the last project they worked on together was more than 20 years ago, and that they do not visit each other, making the description of their relationship as a friendship inaccurate, in her view.
She added that Maiar explained that her feeling of disappointment was linked to advice Nashwa had given her in the past. At the time, a man wanted to marry Maiar on the condition that she wear the hijab and leave the entertainment industry. Nashwa said she encouraged her to wear the hijab and start a family, believing that having a family and children is an important part of life.
Nashwa also sent a message to Maiar, saying: “Pray for me, Maiar, that God blesses me as He has blessed you, and may God guide everyone and guide me to wear the hijab.” She stressed that she sees the hijab as both a religious duty and a blessing, and said she continues to pray that God will guide her to take that step.
Nashwa also spoke about the sadness she has been experiencing since the death of her husband. She expressed her hope that God will be pleased with her and that she will leave this life having done as much good as possible.
