Hossam Hassan Officially Divorces First Wife Following North Coast Crisis
Mohamed Shams, the lawyer representing the second wife of Egypt national football team head coach Hossam Hassan, announced that Hassan has officially divorced his first wife, Howaida El-Gharbawy, following the recent crisis on Egypt’s North Coast that sparked widespread controversy.
According to Al Arabiya, the divorce came after tensions between the couple escalated and their relationship reached a dead end, bringing to a close a marriage that had lasted for many years and resulted in their three children, Aya, Roaa, and Omar.
The crisis reportedly erupted on Friday evening inside a café at a hotel on the North Coast, where an argument broke out between Howaida El-Gharbawy and Dina Mostafa, known as “Dan Adam,” Hossam Hassan’s second wife. The confrontation later escalated into a physical altercation that required police intervention.
Both women reportedly suffered various injuries and bruises, while reports claimed that Hossam Hassan fainted due to severe emotional stress as he attempted to contain the situation.
The incident drew widespread attention on social media, particularly as conflicting accounts circulated regarding the reasons behind the dispute and what exactly happened at the scene.
Hossam Hassan and Howaida El-Gharbawy had previously separated briefly in 2022 for around 10 days before reconciling and resuming their married life.
Hossam Hassan married Howaida early in his life, and the couple had three children together. He later married Dina Mostafa in 2015 after the two met in the Marina area on Egypt’s North Coast.
