The Hollywood star revealed that she has raised her six children while preparing them for the possibility that one day she may no longer be there. She explained that she focused more on helping them become strong and independent than on imagining herself growing old and becoming a grandmother.
Jolie said this way of thinking was shaped by her own experience with loss. Her mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand, died from cancer at the age of 56, while Jolie also grew up without having the chance to know her grandmother.
Her comments sparked concern among fans, especially because Jolie carries the BRCA1 gene mutation, which increases the risk of breast and ovarian cancer. However, she did not say that she is currently seriously ill or that she believes her death is near.
Instead, Jolie explained that thinking about death has made her appreciate life and the time she spends with the people she loves.
She also revealed that her children, who are now older, encourage her to go out more, enjoy her life and try new experiences.
