The Egyptian actor passed away only hours after his mother appealed to the authorities for help in transferring him to Kasr Al Ainy Hospital because of his worsening health condition, hoping he could receive the medical care he needed.
Following the announcement of his death, Egypt’s Actors Syndicate stepped in to complete the burial arrangements. Ashraf Zaki, head of the syndicate, contacted the late actor’s mother and ordered that a burial place be provided for him at the syndicate’s cemetery in the Khalifa area of Cairo.
The syndicate intervened after Amr Mohamed Ali’s mother explained that the family did not have a private burial place, so the syndicate took responsibility for arranging the funeral and providing a grave for him.
The late actor was laid to rest at the Actors Syndicate cemetery, amid deep sadness among his colleagues and fans. His death brought an end to an acting career that began in childhood and continued for years before his illness forced him away from the screen.
Amr Mohamed Ali was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2006. His health complications became more serious over the years until he lost the ability to move and needed continuous care and treatment.
The year 2006 also marked his final acting appearance in the television series “Hadaeq Al Shaytan” (“The Devil’s Gardens”), after which he completely stepped away from acting because of his health condition.
Before his death, actor Karim El Husseiny shared photos from Amr Mohamed Ali’s latest appearance, taken during a visit to his home. The effects of illness and exhaustion were clearly visible on the late actor’s face.
After his death was announced, Karim El Husseiny paid tribute to his colleague on Instagram, praying for mercy and forgiveness for him and asking his followers to pray for his soul and recite Al-Fatiha in his memory.
