Heikal to Mansi: “You Made Us Proud and Raised the Army’s Standing”

National Defense Minister Major General Michel Mansi received Army Commander General Rodolphe Heikal in his office in Yarzeh today, heading a delegation that included members of the Military Council and senior officers from the Army Command. The visit was to thank the National Defense Minister for his supportive positions toward the military institution and to express appreciation for his stance toward Army martyrs and their families.

General Heikal told Major General Mansi: “You have never and will never let the families of the martyrs down. You made us proud and raised the Army’s standing,” in response to the statement issued by the National Defense Minister earlier today.

The Army Commander went on to emphasize that the military institution’s objectives are national and that it works to protect Lebanon and safeguard its security and stability. He stressed that “there is no sectarianism among those who wear the camouflage uniform.”
