According to the National Geophysics Center, affiliated with Lebanon’s National Council for Scientific Research, the earthquake occurred at 1:12 a.m. local time on Friday, September 25, 2026.
The center said the tremor was located in the Nahleh area of Baalbek and measured 2.9 on the Richter scale.
The relatively mild earthquake was nevertheless felt by a number of citizens in the area.
